The Z80 Assembler is the main tool for Z88 operating system and application development. It is derived from the z80asm tool, and improved. The Z88dk (Small-C) project uses the original z80asm tool, and have modified / improved it for their purposes.

We have made an effort to develop an easy command line interface and efficient assembler source file compiling for stand-alone application development or as a back-end for a high-level programming language compiler. We hope that you will enjoy your Z80 machine code development with our assembler. We hope this is a fairly easy-to-understand documentation, describing the Mpm assembler functionality thoroughly with many examples. As a complement we have also provided a compact quick reference when the developer just needs a quick glance to use a particular command line option or directive.
