Modifying Z88 Extender Card
Programming different Cards
On the previous EPROM Programmers, the footprint could be set independently from the device. This is no longer the case.
The DIL header that fits into the programmer to the Z88 card has the footprint for the 512K Flash chip. When using different chips, the footprint needs to be changed to match the pin-outs of the footprint that the programmer is expecting.

A pull down resistor is fitted on the Z88 Card side of the connector to ensure it is selected.
The switch is glued to the board to swap the A18 and /WE signals. Footprints are hardware selected.

1M Flash & EPROMs
32 Pin EPROM Programmers program up to 512K devices. This switch allows the 1M Flash Card to be programmed in 2 halves.
The switch positions are used to program:-
- DIL 512K HIGH (normal) - 512/512K Flash / RAM cards and the top half of 1M Flash cards with 32 Pin Programmers.
- DIL 512K LOW - the bottom half of 1M Flash cards with 32 Pin Programmers.
- TSOP40 1M Flash - with 40 pin Programmers or EPROMs up to 256K EPROMs

Modification to Z88 Extender Card
- The card is cut so that the unused part is removed. This enables the lights on the EPROM Programmer to to seen.
- 4 tracks (1, 2, 9 and 17) from the 32 pin header are cut in-between the 2 off 34 way connectors and a 4 pole 3 way switch is used.
- 2 off 2K2 resistors are connected from pin 9 on the Z88 card side and pin 2 on the switch to pin 20.
- The holes of the 2 off 34 way connectors are used to connect to the switch.

This will be drawn up properly (one day) but in the meantime here is a freehand sketch.
